Small-batch raw honey from a family-run apiary in San Diego County
Happy Bee is a family-run apiary in inland San Diego County producing small-batch raw honey from hives situated in a citrus and avocado orchard. The honey is sourced exclusively from those hives and released in limited batches, with availability shaped by hive health, seasonal bloom, and nectar flow. Taste and color vary from batch to batch depending on what the bees have foraged most recently. Honey is sold by net weight in glass jars and available for local pickup only. The operation is run by Tom, Victoria, and Judd Curran, all educators who approached beekeeping through formal study and hands-on training before starting their hives.
Happy Bee honey is 100% pure and raw, lightly filtered only to remove larger pieces of beeswax and pollen; tiny bits of wax and pollen may remain. The apiary follows a bee-first principle, always leaving an ample supply of honey in the hive before making any surplus available for sale. All hives are registered with the County of San Diego Apiary Program, and the operation adheres to all county rules and guidelines. The beekeepers maintain a California native pollinator garden that holds an Earth-Friendly Garden certification from the Master Gardener Association of San Diego County and recognition as a pollinator-friendly garden by the Xerces Society. Judd Curran completed a year-long intensive training program with Pollinator Partnership and holds a Certified Pollinator Steward designation.
