Farmer-owned butcher shop selling single-farm Black Angus beef, Berkshire pork, and free-range poultry.
Hufendick Farm Market is a craft butcher shop in historic downtown Plainfield, Illinois, sourcing all of its fresh and frozen meat directly from Hufendick Farm, located south of Norway, Illinois. The shop carries naturally raised Black Angus beef, Berkshire pork, and free-range chicken and turkey, along with chicken and duck eggs. Beyond whole cuts, it offers a range of house-made products: European-style sausages, house-made bologna, house-made hams, fresh roasted and smoked turkey breast, made-from-scratch soups, and traditional deli items. As a single-farm sourced butcher shop, every cut is custom-cut by hand. Learn more on their About Page.
All animals are raised on Hufendick Farm with no antibiotics and no steroids. Cattle are pasture-raised Black Angus, finished on Non-GMO grains to support marbling, and the beef is dry-aged for 30 days. Berkshire hogs are born on the farm, and Mike Hufendick has raised the breed for over 15 years; smoked hams and bacon are cured with no chemicals. Chickens and turkeys are free-range and fed Non-GMO grains, with no steroids and no antibiotics. Animals are raised with access to the outdoors and are grass-fed with some grain in their diet.
