Hine Farms is a fifth-generation family farm in Waterloo, Indiana, managed by Tim and Stephanie Hine along with their two children. Tim began managing the property in 2019 and has since transitioned portions of the crop ground to permanent pastures and annual grazing mixes. The farm raises grass-fed and finished beef, pasture-raised pork, pasture-raised laying hens, and pasture-raised meat chickens. Beyond meat and eggs, Hine Farms produces maple syrup, tallow and lard skincare products, seasonal produce, and carries local honey and jams. Hine Farms operates with regenerative agriculture principles guiding its land and animal management. The beef herd is rotationally grazed on pasture year-round and finished on grass. Pigs are raised in the woods and rotated through pastures. Laying hens free-range through pastures using a mobile coop and receive a non-GMO, corn- and soy-free feed. Meat chickens are rotated through pastures in mobile chicken tractors and are offered a non-GMO feed. The farm is phasing out row crop production in favor of permanent pasture. Maple syrup has been produced by the family since the early 1980s; the farm offers both pure maple syrup and a bourbon barrel-aged variety. Tallow and lard from the farm's own animals are used to make soap, whipped tallow balm, and lip balm.
