Family-owned egg farm and farm store raising cage-free hens since 1942.
Hilliker's Ranch Fresh Eggs has been family owned and operated since 1942. The ranch runs three cage-free aviaries, each housing around 10,000 hens, and sells fresh Grade A white and brown eggs in sizes from small to jumbo at its on-site farm store. Beyond eggs, the store carries raw goat and cow milk from Claravale Farm, Jackie's Jams in over 25 flavors, and raw honey produced by bees kept at the ranch and around East County. Eggs are also distributed to stores and restaurants across San Diego County. Hilliker's Ranch Fresh Eggs raises its hens in cage-free aviaries equipped with automatic feeders, waterers, and waste management systems. The hens are fed a vegetarian diet. Eggs are collected on-site and processed, including washing, weighing, and packing, every other day at the ranch. Following the passage of California's Proposition 2 in 2008, the ranch converted its facilities to cage-free operations and currently runs three such aviaries. The raw honey sold at the farm store is filtered and comes from the ranch's own worker bees as well as hives located around East County.
