Heritage breed livestock farm raising pasture-raised pork, duck, turkey, and organic microgreens.
High Silo Farm has been raising heritage breed animals and growing heirloom produce since 2014, starting with a small flock of ducks bred first for the family table. The farm focuses on conserving rare genetics, working with heritage duck breeds including Silver Appleyard, Muscovy, Saxony, Welsh Harlequin, and Khaki Campbell for meat and eggs. It has since expanded to Ossabaw Island hogs and Chocolate and Bourbon Red turkeys. Products available through the farm's online shop include pasture-raised pork cuts, uncured bacon, sweet Italian sausage, heritage duck, heritage turkey, and organic wheatgrass. Farm pickup is by appointment. Learn more on their About Page.
High Silo Farm raises its livestock on pasture and follows a near year-long growing process for its heritage animals. The farm breeds Ossabaw Island hogs and raises heritage duck and turkey breeds selected for their rare genetics and resilience. Pork products are described as pasture-raised, and its bacon is sold uncured with no nitrates or nitrites. The farm also grows organic wheatgrass and organic microgreens.
