High Lawn Farm

High Lawn Farm grows most of its own feed on the property, with corn, alfalfa, and grass as the primary crops supporting the herd. Jersey cows graze pastures seasonally and, in winter, are housed in heated barns with waterbeds. The farm uses 100% of its cow manure as fertilizer for corn and forage crops, supplementing with commercial fertilizers when needed to balance soil health. No synthetic growth hormones (rBST) are used on the herd. Antibiotics are administered only when a cow is ill, and no milk from that animal enters production until it is clear of all traces. Cows are milked using a Lely Astronaut robotic milking system, which allows each animal to be milked at will on its own schedule. The farm's beef cattle are processed at a USDA-inspected facility in Eagle Bridge, New York, selected for humane handling practices.
