The Farm New Marlborough is a small family farm operating across five hundred acres in New Marlborough. The Farm uses an intensive rotational grazing model across its five hundred acres. Cattle are moved into fresh paddocks at least once a day, which promotes grass root and shoot growth while distributing natural fertilizer across the fields. Heritage laying hens, primarily Barred Rocks, rotate behind the cattle, spreading manure, managing insects, and producing eggs year-round. Meat chickens are raised in chicken tractors that are moved daily to provide fresh grass, and their manure is used as a long-term field fertilizer. Pigs are raised from farrow to finish on a rotational system covering both forest and pasture land, which supports soil aeration and microbial activity.
