Pasture-raised beef and chicken from a small regenerative farm in Greenville, Florida.
Heart Bar Farm is a small pasture-raised meat farm founded in the summer of 2022 by Eric and Jennifer Anderson. The farm name pays tribute to the cattle brand used by Eric's grandfather, a working cowboy in SW Florida. The operation began with 15 head of beef cattle and expanded to include broiler chickens and KuneKune pigs to promote animal diversity and soil health. Beef cattle eat only grasses and forages and are never grain finished. Chicken and pigs receive certified organic, corn-free, and soy-free feed. Orders can be picked up at the farm, through the Red Hills Online Farmers Market, or at a local Tractor Supply parking lot. Learn more on their About Page.
Heart Bar Farm raises all livestock on pasture using rotational grazing, with no pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers used on the land. The farm's stated goal is for all animals to spend their lives on rooted vegetation. Beef cattle are grass-fed and grass-finished, with minimal supplements including Thorvin Kelp, mineral salt, sodium bicarbonate, and organic alfalfa pellets to address nutrient gaps. Chicken and pig feed is certified organic, corn-free, and soy-free, sourced directly from Reedy Fork Organic Farm. The farm also strives to source all other inputs as organic-approved options to reduce the presence of persistent toxins in the soil and food supply. Land regeneration and humane animal raising are stated priorities guiding the farm's ongoing practices.
