Four-generation family farm growing certified organic citrus, pummelos, and stone fruit in Visalia, California.
Haury Farms is a four-generation family citrus operation that has farmed the same ground outside Visalia since 1945. Edgar Haury planted the oldest citrus fields; his son Jim expanded the operation; Greg built a packing house and led the conversion to organic farming; and Blake joined full time in 2020. The farm grows pummelos as its flagship crop, along with a range of oranges, mandarins, blood oranges, Cara Cara navels, Valencias, pomegranates, and table grapes across a season running from September through July. Haury Farms packs its pummelos in its own on-farm shed with the same seasonal crew each year; the rest of its citrus is packed and marketed through HomeGrown Organic Farms. Pummelos are available at Whole Foods in season. Learn more on their About Page.
Haury Farms began transitioning to organic farming in 2009 and earned its first USDA Organic certification through Organic Certifiers in 2012. The farm is also pursuing regenerative agriculture, building soil with compost, cover crops, and biological inputs, and is working toward Regenified certification. Pummelos are held in cold storage at 42 degrees Fahrenheit from the field until they ship. The packing operation is PrimusGFS certified, and every box carries traceability back to the specific field it came from.
