Certified organic family farm offering a CSA, farm stand produce, dried fruit, jams, and seasonal flowers since 1976.
Good Humus Produce is a 30-acre certified organic family farm founded by Jeff and Annie Main in 1976. Now run as a partnership with their daughters Alison and Claire, the farm grows mixed vegetables, orchard fruit, herbs, and flowers across eight fields in Northern California's Hungry Hollow. In addition to fresh produce, Good Humus produces sun-dried fruit, jams and jellies made from its own fruit and herbs, and dried herb and flower wreaths. The farm has sold at the Davis Farmers Market, to Bay Area wholesalers, and to the Davis and Sacramento Food Co-ops since its founding. It also hosts recurring seasonal events, including an Open Farm Day and Plant Sale, a Peach Party, and a Holiday Wreath Class. Learn more on their About Page.
Good Humus Produce farms 30 acres of certified organic land. Its fields include mixed orchards, California native hedgerows, cover crops, and annual and perennial herbs, flowers, and vegetables. The farm sun-dries its fruit on-site and produces jams, jellies, and wreaths from crops it grows itself. To protect the land for future farmers, the farm is working to place it under an Agricultural Easement, a legal instrument that would require all future owners to be qualified farmers, set resale prices at levels affordable to working farmers, and keep the land in sustainable food production in perpetuity.
