Multigenerational almond farm and processing operation growing almonds, walnuts, and organic grapes in California's Central Valley.
Capay Canyon Ranch is a family-owned farm and handling operation founded in 1972 by Stan and Leslie Barth. Now spanning three generations, the ranch is run with the Barth siblings and their families, continuing a tradition rooted in California agriculture. The farm grows almonds across 100 acres on site and also cultivates Chandler and Tulare walnuts and organic Flame Seedless table grapes. Beyond its own orchards, Capay Canyon Ranch works with a network of regional almond growers. Products reach both domestic and international buyers, and the ranch also sells almonds, grapes, and raisins at the Davis Farmers Market.
Capay Canyon Ranch employs industry-recognized Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) throughout the year, covering pathogen and pest management and fertilization techniques. The ranch cultivates multiple almond varieties on site, including Nonpareil, Carmel, Peerless, Mission, Butte, Padre, Winters, and California Marcona. Its handling facility uses a variety of equipment and an advanced inventory control system, and adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices with oversight from outside agencies. The facility provides hulling, shelling, sizing, sorting, finishing, packing, and heat pasteurization services. The organic Flame Seedless grapes are grown for select local markets, including co-ops and farmers markets.
