Seasonal vegetable CSA grown by former refugee farmers, offering weekly produce boxes with Iowa favorites and global varieties.
Global Greens CSA is a seasonal vegetable subscription program run through Lutheran Services in Iowa's Immigrant and Refugee Community Services. The produce is grown by former refugees who farmed in their home countries, reconnecting them with agriculture as they build farming businesses in the U.S. The CSA supports more than 30 small farming businesses. Subscribers receive boxes of 6 to 10 vegetable varieties, including Iowa staples alongside crops such as lenga lenga, African eggplant, bitter melon, and roselle. A Share-a-Share option lets subscribers donate a box to a food-insecure family, and EBT/SNAP benefits are accepted. Learn more on their About Page.
Global Greens CSA describes its produce as Naturally Grown, following the same standards as organic production. Vegetables are raised without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, or genetically modified organisms. The farming methods are designed to protect soil health and ecosystems.
