400-acre certified organic farm growing vegetables, fruits, flowers, nuts, and wool in the Capay Valley since 1985.
Full Belly Farm is a 400-acre certified organic farm in the Capay Valley of Northern California, farming with organic practices since 1985. The farm was established in 1984 by Dru Rivers and Paul Muller and is now run by multiple owners and around 80 employees. It grows over 100 crops, including fruits, vegetables, nuts, flowers, and herbs, and also raises chickens, sheep, goats, pigs, and cows. A commercial kitchen preserves farm produce for year-round availability, and the farm produces organic almonds, walnuts, grains, beans, and wool. Full Belly sells through a weekly CSA (operating since 1992), farmers markets, and wholesale accounts at stores and restaurants throughout Northern California. The farm also hosts seasonal events including farm dinners, pizza nights, educational tours, and an annual harvest festival. Learn more on their About Page.
Full Belly Farm has been certified organic since 1985 and holds certifications from California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) and the Real Organic Project. The farm prioritizes year-round employment for its workers, uses cover crops for soil health, and plants habitat areas to support beneficial insects and wildlife. It aims to sell produce within a 120-mile radius of the farm. Animals are integrated into the operation, contributing to soil health as well as providing meat, eggs, and wool. The farm describes its long-term goal as integrating farm production with environmental stewardship.
