A 360-acre New Hampshire farm raising 100% grass-fed beef, pastured lamb, pork, and poultry for four Woods Hill restaurants.
Farm at Woods Hill is a 360-acre working farm owned by Kristin Canty, a filmmaker and advocate for small farming and ancestral foods. The farm raises cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, and ducks, supplying grass-fed proteins, dry-aged duck, and other ingredients directly to four Woods Hill restaurants: Woods Hill Table and Adelita in Concord, and Woods Hill Pier 4 and The Block at Woods Hill in Boston. Executive Chef Charlie Foster uses the farm's output alongside other small-scale local purveyors to build menus centered on grass-fed proteins, raw milk cheeses, sustainably caught fish, organic produce, and raw fermented foods. The farm also offers a lodge and farmhouse for guest stays. Learn more on their About Page.
All cattle and lambs at Farm at Woods Hill are 100% grass-fed year-round, grazing pasture in season and eating free-choice hay or haylage otherwise, with no grain supplements. Cattle, sheep, and pigs are always on pasture, fields, or woodland silvopasture, never confined. Chickens and ducks move to fields or woodland pasture once old enough, living in movable shelters. Non-ruminants like pigs and chickens eat only organic, non-GMO grain from a Barnet, VT mill. The farm uses no pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or chemical weed control, relying on manure and purchased organic seaweed and fish fertilizers. Parasite control protects the pasture environment, and the farm reports more dung beetles and greater soil diversity. Beef, pork, lamb, and sheep are processed at a Certified Humane, USDA-inspected facility. The farm maintains beehives, pollinator-friendly plantings, and wildlife habitat structures, including bluebird and native bee houses.
