Family farm selling pasture-raised eggs, heritage meats, seasonal produce, and nursery fruit trees
Eggsotics is a small family farm on 18 acres in Archer, Florida, rooted in a farming tradition that began in Ukraine more than 40 years ago. Founded by Natalia Derevianko, the farm started selling at Alachua County farmers markets with eggs from heritage chicken and duck breeds before expanding into meats, produce, and more. Today Eggsotics offers pasture-raised chicken and duck eggs, heritage pork and poultry, seasonal vegetables and fruits, sourdough breads, jams, lard soaps, and nursery fruit trees with budwood. Products are available at Gainesville-area farmers markets and through pre-orders for market or on-farm pickup. Learn more on their About Page.
Eggsotics raises its chickens, ducks, and pigs on open pasture. Heritage breed pigs are raised on pasture for its pork cuts and sausage, and heritage breed poultry are raised naturally for both eggs and meat. Produce is grown seasonally, and the farm's nursery fruit trees are selected for suitability to north-central Florida's climate, soils, and growing conditions. Kevin Folta, a professor specializing in molecular biology and physiology of fruit crops, contributes expertise in identifying new crop varieties suited to small local farms. The farm operates on 18 acres and supports research into new varieties alongside its production work.
