51-acre Eastern Iowa vegetable farm offering CSA shares, seed garlic, and seasonal produce.
Echollective Farm grows a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers on 51 acres in Eastern Iowa. Founded in 2000 as a small garden growing food for a local restaurant, the farm has since expanded to serve local restaurants, New Pioneer Coop, the Iowa City Farmers Market, a local food hub supplying Iowa City Schools, and two CSA programs. Its Farm Share CSA delivers weekly boxes of seasonal produce along with a farm newsletter featuring recipe ideas, storage tips, and farm updates. A Market Share CSA option is also available. Echollective Farm is also well known for its seed garlic, which it ships to farms across the northern United States. Farmers Derek Roller and Molly Schintler lead the operation. Learn more on their About Page.
Echollective Farm uses organic and sustainable growing practices, with a stated commitment to never spraying synthetic pesticides or herbicides on its food, around the farm home, in its woodlands, or anywhere on the property. The farm also works to conserve prairie grasslands, woodlands, and native habitat on its land. Its growing focus is on serving communities within approximately half an hour of the farm.
