Family farm raising pasture-raised heritage pork, beef, chicken, and turkey, with a meat CSA and farm store.
East Willow Farm is a family farm established in 2016, raising heritage breed pigs, Hereford and Angus beef cattle, meat chickens, and turkeys. The farm sells its products through a farm store (pick-up only), a meat CSA, and half and whole animal shares for pork and beef. It also offers raw dog food and treats. A small on-farm apiary helps pollinate the farm's produce. Orders can be placed by phone or email, and beef from neighboring local farms is stocked when the farm's own supply runs short. East Willow Farm raises its animals on pasture using a rotational grazing method, moving livestock to new ground and reseeding after each rotation. No synthetic fertilizers are used on the fields; the farm relies on animal manure to restore the soil. No growth hormones or antibiotics are used. Heritage pigs receive a small amount of non-GMO grain milled in Connecticut, supplemented with farm-grown fruits and vegetables and raw milk from a local dairy farm. Meat chickens are raised in small flocks of 50 to 75 birds in mobile chicken tractors that are moved to fresh ground during the grazing season; during winter months the birds are housed in large sheds with the same quality feed. Beef cattle are primarily grass-fed on free-choice grass and hay, with a small grain supplement. The farm does not use synthetic pesticides.
