Dowie MicroFarm is a micro-farm in Derry, NH, owned and operated by Jon Dowie and Jenny Noviello. The farm grows a wide variety of microgreens and produces duck eggs and quail eggs. Microgreens are available for weekly home delivery across southern New Hampshire and northeastern Massachusetts, for direct pickup at the on-site farm stand, and by direct delivery to restaurants. The farm stand operates year-round, and microgreens are typically offered by pre-order to ensure freshness. Dowie MicroFarm also carries complementary local products, including maple syrup, raw honey, and small-batch mustards.
Dowie MicroFarm grows all of its microgreens in soil approved for organic growing inside a climate-controlled indoor space, year-round. Seeds are sourced exclusively from suppliers that carry non-GMO, safe seed pledge varieties. No chemicals are used at any stage of growing. The farm grows under LED lighting, never reuses soil between crops, and maintains strict quality controls in the grow room. Most finished greens are rinsed in cold salt water, air dried, packaged in ventilated containers, and refrigerated immediately after harvest. Leftover microgreens and byproducts such as used soil and root mats are fed to the farm's duck, chicken, and quail flocks.
