Nonprofit urban farm growing vegetables, herbs, flowers, and duck eggs, with onsite markets and land-based education programs.
Dharma's Garden is a nonprofit urban farm and educational project founded in 2014 on a 5-acre parcel in Boulder, Colorado. Its productive half-acre garden yields fresh vegetables, herbs, flowers, and duck eggs, shared with the surrounding neighborhood through onsite markets that run from June through October and a self-serve Little Garden Stand. The farm also periodically offers seeds, plant starts, herbal products, and cottage-food items throughout the year. Beyond the produce, Dharma's Garden runs classes and workshops for adults and children of all ages, apprenticeship opportunities, and seasonal festivals. Its stated mission is to demonstrate, educate, and inspire others in the work of tending the earth. The project is run by co-founders Tim and Kerry Francis and operates as a project of Wonderhaven, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Learn more on their About Page.
Dharma's Garden uses organic, biodynamic, and regenerative agricultural practices as its guiding framework, treating the land as an interconnected whole. No chemical fertilizers or pesticides of any kind are used. Compost is made on-site from material produced in the garden itself. In the rare instances where nutrients are brought in from off-site, only certified organic products or manure from local farms are used. The farm's ducks are fed certified organic feed, in addition to what they forage on the property.
