Dry Storage

Dry Storage mills all its grains on an American-made, hand-dressed granite stonemill, a process it states keeps the grain cool and preserves the flour's flavor and character. The grain varieties listed in its index are labeled organic (Rouge de Bordeaux, White Sonora, Yecora Rojo, Elbon Rye, Winter Langin, and Pasayten are each designated organic on the grain index). The business sources grain directly from regional farming partners, including farms in Colorado's San Luis Valley and Northern Colorado, and states it pays farmers a fair wage and buys direct to strengthen rural economies. Its farmers are described as employing regenerative and organic practices. Dry Storage is a participant in Zero Foodprint, a program supporting carbon farming and regenerative practices, and is affiliated with the Colorado Grain Chain, Mad Agriculture, and Slow Food.
