Northwest Georgia cattle farm raising Brangus replacement heifers and selling beef by the whole, half, or quarter steer.
deGraan Farms is a family-run cattle farm in northwest Georgia, owned and operated by Bobby and Jennifer deGraan. The farm was established in 2004 as a cow-calf operation and launched its grass-fed beef business in 2009. In 2018, the farm shifted its primary focus to producing commercial Brangus replacement heifers, applying the genetics knowledge built over years of raising beef cattle. Today, deGraan Farms breeds black and black baldy heifers selected for hybrid vigor, fertility, longevity, and beef quality. The farm also continues to sell beef in whole, half, and quarter steer packages, with processing runs twice a year in fall and spring. Farm services including consultation on farm setup and herd management are available to buyers.
deGraan Farms raises all cattle born and bred on its own property, so the farm has full knowledge of every animal's history and handling. Cattle are raised in a low-stress environment on natural forages without supplemental growth hormones or sub-therapeutic antibiotics, and are not confined in feedlots. Selective crossbreeding, using a Brahman base bred to Herefords with offspring then bred to Angus or Brangus bulls, drives the hybrid vigor that the farm emphasizes for both heifer production and beef quality. Beef is processed at a USDA-inspected facility.
