Raw Jersey cow milk and raw goat milk, produced using traditional methods since 1927.
Claravale Farm has produced raw dairy products using traditional, unprocessed methods since 1927. Its primary product is raw whole milk from a herd of Jersey cows, a breed known for producing milk with higher concentrations of proteins, solids, butterfat, and beta-carotene than most commercial breeds. The farm also produces raw goat milk from registered La Mancha, Alpine, and Saanen dairy goats. Milk goes from the cow or goat directly into returnable glass bottles, with no pasteurization, homogenization, or added synthetic vitamins. Products are available through independent grocery stores and farmers markets across California. The farm also offers farm stays and sells Jersey cows for backyard or family use. Learn more on their About Page.
Claravale Farm feeds its cows a traditional diet of organic hay, non-GMO grain-based dairy feed, and seasonal pasture. Cows graze on pasture that has been fallow for decades, with pasture access during the natural growing season, supplemented by organic hay and non-GMO grain year-round. The farm does not use pesticides, bovine growth hormone, chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or any GMO feeds or products on its milking herds. Antibiotics are used only when medically necessary, not prophylactically, and any treated cow is removed from the milking herd until the antibiotics have fully cleared her system. Milk is bottled exclusively from the farm's own animals and packaged in returnable glass bottles to preserve flavor and reduce waste.
