Family-run organic blueberry farm offering U-Pick, fresh blueberries, and a range of blueberry products.
Byne Blueberry Farms is a multi-generational family farm in Waynesboro, Georgia, founded in 1980 by Dick Byne on family land held for five generations. Dick began growing blueberries organically when organic farming was not yet a mainstream concept, and his wife Linda and four daughters helped grow the farm. The farm started as a pick-your-own operation and has since expanded into blueberry products, including fresh blueberries, blueberry powder, syrups, jams, jelly preserves, dried blueberries, chocolate-covered blueberries, blueberry juice, and a Georgia Bar made with blueberries, peanuts, pecans, soybeans, and oats. The farm also produces raw honey and goat's milk blueberry soap. Products are sold through its online store and at retailers including The Fresh Market, Whole Foods, and B&T Fresh Food Stores across Georgia and South Carolina. Learn more on their About Page.
Byne Blueberry Farms describes itself as one of the oldest organic blueberry farms in the United States. From the outset, founder Dick Byne chose not to spray his crop with pesticides or herbicides, establishing an organic growing approach before organic farming had entered mainstream American agriculture. The farm's logo carries the phrase "The South's Original Organic" blueberry farm, reflecting this founding philosophy. U-Pick is offered as part of the farm's operations, connecting customers directly with the growing fields.
