Hunter Cattle Company is a sustainable, award-winning family farm founded in 2004 and operated by three generations of the Ferguson family. The farm raises 100% start-to-finish grass-fed beef, pasture-raised pork, and free-range chicken, and also produces air-dried beef snacks, beef bone broth, pet food, and a line of tallow-based skin products called Meadow Bloom. Pork sausage from the farm has earned the Flavor of Georgia Award twice. Beyond meat, Hunter Cattle operates MooMa's Farm Store, an on-farm event venue called the 1890 Venue, and Stilson Abattoir, a livestock processing facility. Hunter Cattle raises its beef 100% start-to-finish on grass, using rotational grazing across fenced pastures to cycle herds and allow land recovery. No antibiotics, hormones, steroids, GMOs, nitrates, nitrites, artificial flavoring, or preservatives are used across the farm's meat products. Animals are not confined. Natural pest and predator management is built into the farm system: donkeys guard herds from predators, chickens spread manure and consume insect larvae, martin gourds, bats, dragonflies, and guineas help control pests, and honey bees pollinate the grasses. The farm carries the American Grassfed and Georgia Grown certifications, and has received the Flavor of Georgia Award.
