Regenerative farm raising grass-fed beef, lamb, pasture-raised pork, chicken, eggs, and honey near Bismarck, ND.
Brown's Ranch is a regenerative farm operated by the Brown family on 5,000 acres of owned and leased land east of Bismarck, North Dakota. Gabe and Shelly Brown purchased the property in 1991, and son Paul now leads day-to-day ranch management. The farm practices Holistic Management and no-till farming, and raises 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef and lamb, pasture-raised pork, pasture-raised chicken, pasture-raised eggs, and raw unfiltered honey. Livestock are available to order through the Nourished by Nature online store. The ranch also sells breeding livestock and garden supplies. Learn more on their About Page.
Brown's Ranch has practiced no-till farming since 1993 and uses a diverse cropping strategy that includes cover and companion crops. The farm has eliminated synthetic fertilizers, fungicides, and pesticides, uses minimal herbicide, and does not use GMOs or glyphosate. Cattle and sheep are raised on a forage-only diet and receive no grain. Poultry are raised on pasture and are never fed GMO grain; chickens are supplemented with regeneratively grown grains. Pigs are pasture-raised and are used to manage bale grazing piles and support pasture health. The ranch does not use growth hormones or antibiotics in its livestock. Grazing management gives most pastures a recovery period of over 360 days, and cattle are allotted fresh grass every day throughout the growing season.
