Black Leg Ranch

Black Leg Ranch is a sixth-generation cattle and bison ranch homesteaded in 1882 by the Doan family, operating across more than 17,000 acres of North Dakota prairie. The ranch raises both Black Angus cattle and buffalo, selling grass-finished beef and bison products through its online meat store. Beyond the livestock operation, Black Leg Ranch hosts weddings and events at the Copper Jewell Barn, offers on-site lodging across three ranch lodges, and runs the Black Leg Brewery. The ranch also operates Rolling Plains Adventures, a full-service hunting and outfitting program covering pheasant, waterfowl, duck, deer, bison, and coyote. Black Leg Ranch has received the National Environmental Stewardship Award, the North Dakota Inaugural Leopold Award, and a North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame induction. Learn more on their About Page.
