Overview
Award-winning raw honey, 100% pure beeswax candles, and beeswax skin care from sustainably managed hives across Massachusetts.
Beverly Bees is a Massachusetts apiary and bee rescue operation run by Anita Deeley, a biologist and former Massachusetts State Bee Inspector, and her husband Brian Deeley. The business produces award-winning micro-batch raw honey: each hive's honey is spun and bottled separately, making every jar traceable to the individual hive that produced it. Beverly Bees has earned five Good Food Awards for its honey and honeycomb, selected through blind tastings. Alongside honey, the apiary offers 100% pure beeswax candles handmade at its Beverly bee farm, organic beeswax lip balms, lotions, and salves produced in small batches, bee pollen, propolis tincture, and organic free-range eggs. Beverly Bees also sells live bees and offers an online beginner beekeeping school. Learn more on their About Page.
Beverly Bees maintains its hives sustainably across backyards in Massachusetts and describes its beekeeping approach as organic and treatment-free. Honey is harvested in micro-batches, with each hive's honey kept separate so the distinct character of each location is preserved. Beeswax candles are made by hand at the Beverly bee farm using local beeswax, described as surplus wax the bees no longer need; no synthetic fragrances are added. Skin care products are made in small batches using the business's own local treatment-free beeswax and organic ingredients. Beverly Bees actively rescues feral and swarm bees in collaboration with pest control companies, relocating them to pesticide-free sites across Massachusetts rather than allowing extermination. The business also offers a hive-hosting program, placing and managing hives on private properties.
