Arizona Grass Raised Beef is a family-run cattle operation founded in 2007 by Tim Petersen, a third-generation meat cutter and first-generation cattle rancher born and raised in Arizona. The business raises 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef on millions of acres of open-range land across the state, then processes and ships it directly to customers. Cuts available include steaks, roasts, ground beef, burgers, organ meats, beef bones, beef broth, and tallow. Shoppers can purchase individual cuts, pre-made beef boxes, customizable build-your-own boxes, or bulk shares ranging from an eighth to a whole beef. Steaks are dry-aged and hand-cut, ground beef is freshly ground then frozen, and all products are individually cry-o-vaced on-site at the business's own USDA-inspected facility.
Arizona Grass Raised Beef raises cattle on native grasses across Arizona's open range, with no supplemental hormones, no antibiotics or mRNA (in feed, water, or by injection), no grain feed, and no feedlot or animal feeding operation (AFO). The cattle graze on National Forest, BLM, and State Trust lands, rotating to greener pastures across the state's three seasonal grass cycles. The operation humanely harvests one animal at a time at its USDA-inspected facility. Partner ranchers supplying the business hold American Grassfed Association (AGA) certification. In-house sausages are made with organic spices and no added sugar. Tallow is rendered by a partner USDA-inspected fat-rendering facility.
