All Natural Homestead Beef is a family-run farm in La Salle, Colorado, focused exclusively on raising purebred Scottish Highland cattle. Owner Frank Silva comes from a multi-generational dairy family and shifted to beef in the early 1990s, choosing the Scottish Highland breed for its docile temperament, longevity, and flavor. The farm sells beef in individual cuts and bulk options, along with pork, eggs, and a seasonal Winter CSA available in half and whole shares. Customers can pick up orders at more than 100 locations. Frank and his family also compete at the Denver National Western Stock Show, the largest Highland cattle show in the world, selecting genetics to strengthen their herd. All Natural Homestead Beef raises its Scottish Highland cattle on pasture across multiple local farms and up and down the Rocky Mountains when grazing conditions allow. The cattle are not fed corn or soy; instead, Frank sources local non-GMO alfalfa from a neighboring farm. Animals are also given a free-choice mixture of unprocessed sea salt and volcanic ash to supply minerals and trace minerals. Two finish options are available: a traditional finish using grass, hay, alfalfa, and brewers grain, and a 100% grass-fed and finished option, both offered at the same price. The farm maintains a chemical-free environment and provides clean, fresh water at all times. Processing is done at Stevings Meats, a local family-owned, USDA-certified plant in Kersey, Colorado, built to a Temple Grandin low-stress design. Stevings processes one animal at a time and dry-ages Frank's beef for 21 days.
