Aspen Moon Farm is a USDA Certified Organic and biodynamic farm founded in 2009 in Longmont, Colorado. It also holds certification through the Real Organic Project. The farm has grown from 2.5 acres to roughly 90 acres, with approximately 20 acres in active production. Its offerings include seasonal vegetables, organic flowers, berries, starter plants, and heritage grains. Customers can access the farm's produce through a CSA program, a seasonal roadside Farm Stand on Hygiene Road, and stalls at the Boulder and Longmont farmers markets on Saturdays. The CSA offers both customizable and farmer's choice share options, with pick-up locations at the farm, in Boulder, and in Denver.
Aspen Moon Farm has practiced biodynamic agriculture since 2009. It generates on-farm fertility through biodynamic compost, cover cropping, and crop rotation, and applies biodynamic preparations in its greenhouses, fields, and compost heaps. All direct-seeding and transplanting is scheduled in correlation with a biodynamic planting calendar, which organizes plantings into leaf, root, flower, and fruit categories. Many crops are hand-harvested. The farm grows heritage grain varieties, including heirloom corns and wheats, as part of a broader commitment to sustainable rotations and soil health. Organic flower bouquets are grown on-site and hand-picked. Eggs sold at the farm come from free-ranging hens fed local organic feed and farm pasture. The optional fruit share is sourced from Certified Organic Ela Family Farms in Hotchkiss, Colorado.
