Fourth-generation Florida cattle ranch raising natural beef on open pasture since 1937.
Adams Ranch is a fourth-generation cattle business founded in 1937 and headquartered in Fort Pierce, Florida. The ranch spans approximately 40,000 acres across St. Lucie, Madison, Okeechobee, and Osceola Counties. It is ranked 15th among cow-calf ranches in the United States and is nationally recognized as a top seed-stock resource. Adams Ranch developed the Braford breed of cattle and continues to be one of the country's top producing cow-calf operations. The ranch sells cattle through private treaty and an annual auction, and also offers Adams Ranch Natural Beef directly to consumers. Natural beef is available through an online store, Florida Whole Foods Market locations, and a number of local shops and restaurants. Learn more on their About Page.
Adams Ranch raises cattle under a natural ranching model with no added hormones and no antibiotics. The ranch operates a closed herd to maintain the genetic soundness of its cattle. Breeding is conducted through open pasture mixed sire breeding with no artificial insemination, and calving is natural and unassisted on open pasture. Weaning is described as stress-free to allow natural separation from mothers. Cattle are raised on a 100% vegetarian diet during a fully open-pasture growing period in Florida's 12-month outdoor environment. Cow-herd management follows Global Animal Partnership standards, and all cattle are processed at a facility in Fort McCoy, Florida. The ranch also runs an extensive conservation program, with cattle sharing land alongside wildlife across palm and oak hammocks and pasture.
