First-generation family orchard offering fruit, farm eggs, and chick hatching rental kits
5 Stones Family Farm is a first-generation family operation working a 20-acre orchard in Lincoln, CA. The farm tends more than 1,700 fruit trees across 13 varieties, including peaches, nectarines, cherries, plums, pluots, apricots, French prunes, almonds, apples, pears, pomegranates, and blackberries. Fruit is sold at local farmers markets, including a weekly Sunday market and a seasonal Wednesday market, as well as through a nearby farmstand. Beyond the orchard, the farm runs Feathered Beginnings, an all-inclusive chick hatching rental kit program designed for families, homeschoolers, and classrooms. Kits include a top-of-the-line incubator, seven fertilized eggs from the farm, a brooder box, warming plate, supplies, a printable unit study, and live support throughout the 28-day experience. Learn more on their About Page.
5 Stones Family Farm describes its fruit as grown without synthetic inputs, stating that everything is raised as nature intended. The orchard's free-ranging chickens contribute to pest management by eating bugs among the trees and supply farm-fresh eggs. Fertilized eggs used in the Feathered Beginnings hatching kits come directly from the farm's own hens and rooster. Chicks returned after rental periods are either kept as free-ranging birds on the farm or rehomed as backyard chickens for local families.
