Yubeta Cattle Co. is a 4th-generation cattle ranch in Santa Cruz County, AZ, officially founded in October 2021 by father and son Paco and David Yubeta, drawing on more than 150 years of family ranching history. The ranch has grown from a starting herd of five cows to span over 6,000 acres of natural grazing land, encompassing one of the last remaining true grasslands in Arizona. It raises primarily Hereford-cross cattle, selectively bred over generations to thrive on the steep, hilly terrain. Customers can order quarter, half, or whole beef shares, as well as curated beef boxes including a Grill Master Box, a Ground Beef Box, and a Little Bit of Everything Box, with all processing and delivery included in the price. Yubeta Cattle Co. raises crossbred cows bred to registered and commercial Hereford bulls, with no growth hormones, processed feed, or additives of any kind given to the cattle. The herd is sustainably raised across more than 6,000 acres and rotationally grazed through pasture sections to maintain healthy land and prevent overgrazing. All ranch work is done on horseback, as most pastures are accessible only by horse. Beef shares are processed approximately three times a year and handled through local AZDA-authorized processors (for shares) and a local USDA-inspected processor (for beef boxes). Whole and half shares are custom cut, while quarter shares are standard cut, with a typical hang time of around 10 days.
