A 150-acre farm offering pasture-raised eggs, honey, produce, hay, and Christmas trees.
Whitney Brook Farm is a 150-acre property in Wilmot, NH, purchased in 2019 to preserve the land from a planned housing development. The farm is run by owners Carol Wallace and Mike Jewczyn alongside Farm Manager Scott Niemyer. Its flock includes Buff Orpingtons, Barred Rocks, and New Hampshire Reds, producing brown eggs in various shades. The farm also raises llamas and sheep, tends a vegetable garden, and keeps bees for honey production. Products are available at the Sunapee Farmers Market, where the farm also sells Scott's nature photography, greeting cards, and veggie plants. Learn more on their About Page.
Whitney Brook Farm uses a pasture rotation plan, moving its chicken flock together with llamas and sheep across pastures, which means the hens lay pasture-raised eggs. The vegetable garden is managed to maximize produce output, with crops including radishes, eggplants, tomatoes, sweet peppers, squash, pumpkins, beans, and carrots. Surplus produce has been shared with the Got Lunch! hunger relief program based in Newport, NH.
