Pesticide-free vegetable farm offering CSA shares and home delivery in the Boise area
Whistlepig Farm is a vegetable farm just outside Boise, Idaho, owned by Lyndsey Mulherin, a first-generation farmer growing food for the Boise area since 2018. The farm partners with neighboring Black Fox Farm on shared land in the Boise foothills to run the Dry Creek Growers CSA, a 20-week seasonal program running from May to October. CSA members receive weekly or biweekly shares containing 7 to 12 items, with vegetables, herbs, and seasonal fruits such as rhubarb, blackberries, and currants. Specialty products like garlic powder, black garlic, and baby ginger are available seasonally. Shares can be picked up at four Boise locations or delivered to homes in Boise, Eagle, and Meridian through FarmDeliver. Whistlepig Farm also manages the nearby Hidden Springs Community Farm. Learn more on their About Page.
Whistlepig Farm uses low-till, pesticide-free growing methods with an emphasis on soil health and biodiversity. The farm occasionally sources produce from other local, organic farms to supplement CSA shares, including potatoes from True Roots Farm and Kings Crown Organic Farm. Black Fox Farm, the CSA's partner farm, holds Certified Naturally Grown status and raises a small flock of pastured laying hens, with egg subscriptions available to CSA members on a limited seasonal basis.
