Regenerative farm raising pasture chicken, eggs, and Idaho Pasture Pigs, and selling non-GMO animal feed.
Grandad Farms is a regenerative farm in Emmett, Idaho, run by the Ellison family. It raises pasture chickens and laying hens, and breeds Idaho Pasture Pigs (IPP), a Duroc-Berkshire-Kunekune cross developed for pasture-based pork production. The farm sells pasture eggs, whole pasture chickens, elderberry syrup, and live IPP piglets (both feeder pigs and registered breeders). It also produces and sells non-GMO, corn-free, soy-free animal feed, including layer, broiler, and pasture pig formulas, with pickup and delivery available in the Treasure Valley. Grandad Farms is a registered Idaho Preferred producer. Learn more on their About Page.
Grandad Farms raises its broilers and laying hens without medications, vaccines, hormones, or antibiotics. Broilers are moved to fresh ground seven days per week; laying hens are rotated twice per week. All animals are fed non-GMO, corn-free, soy-free feed. Idaho Pasture Pigs are kept on pasture year-round and rotated through paddocks on a regular schedule using electric netting. Pig feed includes soaked peas, a corn-free and soy-free pasture pig mix, apple cider vinegar, diatomaceous earth, and mineral supplements. Deworming is done with a garlic protocol rather than chemical dewormers. The farm describes its overall approach as regenerative.
