Fourth and fifth generation family farm raising grass-finished beef, pastured pork, and eggs in Worcester County.
Walnut Lane Farm is a fourth and fifth generation family operation that has been working the same fields since 1910, keeping over 230 acres in Worcester County open and productive. The farm raises grass-fed and finished beef, pastured pork, and eggs, and sells direct from its on-farm store and at farmers markets. Beef is available by the cut alongside a variety of sausages in link and bulk packages. Pork is offered as retail cuts, fresh and smoked, as well as sausages. The farm also produces aged compost and carries a small selection of pantry goods from neighboring producers. Learn more on their About Page.
Walnut Lane Farm's South Devon-Angus cross cattle are raised on a 100% grass diet, rotationally grazing pastures through the growing season and eating stored grass hay and baleage made on the farm during the rest of the year. Pork is raised on pasture and in the woods during the warmer months, with pigs spending their time clearing brush and foraging outdoors. The farm describes its approach as regenerative, prioritizing animal care and soil health. Its compost is a blend of aged cow manure and bedding materials, cured for over a year. Pantry items include fermented preserves from Real Pickles in Greenfield, MA; maple syrup from Harms Family Farm in Brookfield, MA, boiled in a wood-fired evaporator; and raw local honey from Flying Wagon Farm, which keeps hives on Walnut Lane Farm's property.
