Three-generation Tampa apiary selling raw, unfiltered wilderness honey in glass mason jars.
Tampa Gold Honey is a family apiary, now in its third generation of beekeeping, producing raw wilderness honey in the Tampa area. The operation places its beehives in Tampa wilderness areas for extended periods, allowing bees to gather nectar from a diverse range of native plants in largely undisturbed natural settings. The honey is extracted from the hive, strained, and poured directly into glass mason jars, bypassing commercial processing methods. Tampa Gold Honey sells its wilderness honey in pint, quart, half-gallon, and one-gallon sizes. Purchases are cash only; no cards are accepted. The business does not sell orange blossom honey, bee pollen, or royal jelly.
Tampa Gold Honey produces only raw, untreated, unheated, and unfiltered honey. Nothing is added to the honey at any stage. The bees are never fed sugar water; instead, honey is left in the hive so the bees can feed on it naturally. Hives are sited in wilderness areas at a reasonable distance from development, where bees forage on native plants. The business describes its honey as Grade AAA Fancy, a standard it defines as honey produced without sugar feeding, with hives placed away from development, and with honey left in the hive for the bees. All honey is packaged in glass mason jars rather than plastic containers.
