Family farm raising grass-fed beef, Berkshire pork, and producing A2 creamline milk, small-batch cheese, and craft ice cream.
Rock House Farm & Creamery is a family farm specializing in grass-fed beef, pork, and artisan dairy products. The creamery, opened in 2016, continues a family dairy tradition on the same land dating back to 1940. The farm raises 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef and Berkshire pork, and also works with partner farms producing USDA prime and choice beef and Cheshire pork. Its creamery line includes A2 creamline whole milk, small-batch cheese, and craft ice cream. The farm also grows Hickory King, an open-pollinated heirloom corn variety from Appalachia, which is stone-milled into fresh grits and cornmeal. The creamery is not open to the public; products are available through retail and wholesale partners.
Rock House Farm & Creamery raises 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef and Berkshire pork on its own land. Partner farms supplying USDA prime and choice beef and Cheshire pork are held to the same production and animal-raising standards as the farm itself. The creamery's dairy cows are born and raised on the farm, grazed on pasture, and are a three-way cross selected for high-butterfat milk production. All milk produced is A2 protein type. The farm grows Hickory King heirloom corn from open-pollinated seed and has it milled fresh at a gristmill. The farm operates with a minimal-processing philosophy and a stated commitment to restoring the land through its production methods.
