River Root Farm is a certified organic farm in Decorah, Iowa that specializes in high tunnel production. Its core offerings include seasonal salad greens, microgreens, fresh and dried herbs, fresh and dried flowers, and tomatoes of all varieties. The farm also holds an annual spring plant sale onsite at its greenhouse. River Root Farm sells wholesale to co-ops, restaurants, and specialty retailers across the Driftless Region, including buyers in Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
River Root Farm is certified organic by MOSA (Midwest Organic Services Association) since 2009 and holds Real Organic Project certification since 2019. Production centers on high tunnel growing, a soil-based method. The farm describes its approach with the phrase "local. organic. soil grown." Products are grown for the wholesale market and distributed to a range of grocery co-ops, restaurants, and florists throughout the region.
