Rising Sun Beef is a family-owned and operated cattle farm run by Jay Meyers and Ray Kersey, a father-and-son team with over 25 years of experience raising Angus beef. The farm spans 460-plus acres in the rolling hills of Southeast Indiana. The operation raises 100% grass-fed and grass-finished Angus cattle with constant access to pasture and fresh water. Beef is sold direct to customers and can be ordered online through the farm's shop.
Rising Sun Beef raises its Angus herd on a grass-fed and grass-finished diet, with no antibiotics, hormones, steroids, GMOs, pesticides, or herbicides used. Animals have continuous access to open pasture and fresh water. The farm displays the American Grassfed Association (AGA) certification logo on its site. The farm describes its approach as focused on ethically and environmentally sound practices, aiming to restore the land through its grazing methods.
