Red Star Ranch

Red Star Ranch raises cattle, pigs, and seasonal pastured poultry on grass and forage pastures. All meat is raised without antibiotics or hormones, and the ranch uses non-GMO feed and locally grown forage when pasture levels require supplementation. The cattle are grass-finished. On the crop side of the operation, the ranch uses minimum and strip-till technology and integrates cover crops to maintain year-round soil cover, increase soil fertility, and reduce pesticide use. Heritage livestock graze on non-GMO cover crop pastures, combining GPS-guided modern equipment with traditional grazing practices. The ranch has reduced its dependence on synthetic fertilizers and worked to control erosion and improve soil health over time.
