U-pick blueberries, pumpkins, and a farm stand in North Idaho
Red Canoe Farms is a small, seasonal u-pick farm and farm stand founded by Steve and Lisa Pointer, whose name traces back to a 1992 canoe trip the couple took down the entire length of the Columbia River. The farm grows eight varieties of northern highbush blueberries, ranging from early-season Dukes and Patriots to large, sweet Chandlers and full-flavored Libertys. Visitors can pick their own berries or purchase pre-picked fruit. In addition to blueberries, Red Canoe Farms grows pumpkins and vegetables for seasonal harvest. The farm also hosts seasonal events, a rye grass maze, and offers soft serve ice cream. Sourdough bread and baked goods are available on-site as well. Learn more on their About Page.
Red Canoe Farms grows its blueberries in volcanic soil, which it identifies as a key characteristic of the fields. The farm offers eight distinct northern highbush varieties, each planted in dedicated rows, allowing visitors to compare flavor profiles across the entire season. Berries are available for u-pick or pre-picked purchase direct from the farm.
