Bah Bah Blacktail Farm

Bah Bah Blacktail Farm uses rotational grazing as its central practice, dividing pastures into smaller paddocks with portable electro-net fencing and moving the flock to fresh ground every one to two days. Pastures rest 28 days or more before being grazed again, which disrupts parasite cycles and largely eliminates the need for dewormers. The farm raises Katahdin sheep, which have high natural resistance to parasites. No growth hormones or growth stimulants are used, and antibiotics are administered only when essential for animal health, with strict withdrawal-time records kept. Land management keeps pastures free of herbicides and pesticides, and organic farming techniques are used to replenish soil fertility. Wildlife habitat is preserved across the farm through maintained corridors and pond nesting areas. Sheep are handled gently and calmly at all stages, and Halal and Kosher on-farm butchering can be accommodated.
