Pork Hill Farm is a Certified Organic farm founded in 2009 on one acre behind the Ossipee Mountain Grange Hall, now spanning five acres of vegetables, flowers, and herbs. Farmers Katie Doyle Smith and Paul Swegel grow the operation, offering weekly CSA shares throughout the growing season. Shares run across a summer season and a fall season, with optional add-ons including a Bouquet Share and pick-your-own flowers. The farm also collaborates with the Foothill Farm Alliance on a Winter CSA. Produce, herbs, and seedlings are available for purchase, and the farm sells wholesale. Learn more on their About Page.
Pork Hill Farm has been Certified Organic since 2010 and is certified by MOFGA under the guidelines of the National Organic Program. The farm does not use chemical pesticides or synthetic fertilizers anywhere on the property. Seeds are organic and heirloom varieties, and seedlings are raised in a compost-based potting soil. Soil fertility is maintained through on-farm compost, manure sourced from neighboring farms, cover crops, and mulches. The farm works with the Natural Resource Conservation Service to conserve soil, protect water quality, and develop pollinator and wildlife habitat.
