Overview
Family farm stand, bakery, and CSA growing vegetables, fruit, and cut flowers since 1801.
Picnic Rock Farms, LLC, formerly Longridge Farm, has been farmed continuously since 1801 by the Hodsdon and Bird families across eight generations, making it the first registered farm stand in New Hampshire. The farm grows fruits, vegetables, and cut flowers, and operates an on-premises bakery producing pies, breads, cookies, whoopie pies, strudels, and more. Its Farm Pantry also carries local farm-raised beef, pork, and chicken; local dairy products and cheeses; honey; maple syrup; and its own sandwiches, salsas, pestos, relishes, and pickles. Picnic Rock Farms offers seasonal community garden plots and sells wholesale to local restaurants, schools, camps, and at farmers markets. A CSA program provides summer and fall shares of ten weekly pickups of fresh produce plus a loaf of bread, along with a separate flower and herb share.
Picnic Rock Farms grows its fruits and vegetables on its own fields and bakes all baked goods on premises. The farm carries locally raised beef, pork, and chicken, along with local dairy, honey, and maple syrup. It belongs to numerous conservation and agricultural organizations, including the Belknap County Conservation District, the NH Farm Bureau Federation, the NH Tree Farm Program, the NH Vegetable Grower's Association, the New England Vegetable and Fruit Grower's Association, and the NH Farm to School Program, reflecting a stated commitment to innovative conservation practices across its generations of operation.
