Farm stand selling free-range eggs, seasonal produce, and raw honey from on-site hives in Sonoma County.
Peterson's Farm is a family-run farm stand on a six-acre property in the historic countryside of Sonoma County, operating since 1972. It sells free-range eggs, seasonal fruits and vegetables, and raw honey produced from on-site beehives. The orchard yields peaches, pears, apples, plums, and two varieties of persimmons (hachiya and giant fuyu), all pollinated by the farm's own honey bees. Products are available directly at the farm in a self-serve setup, with items displayed in front of the barn, inside the barn, and in a refrigerator. An observation beehive in the barn lets visitors watch the bees at work. The property sits on land that was once part of Petaluma's historic chicken-ranching heritage.
Peterson's Farm raises all its products pesticide- and herbicide-free. The chickens have free run of the poultry yard and orchard, with a door that opens at sunrise and closes after the birds return to roost at sundown. The farm holds a certified Bee Friendly Farm designation. Honey is raw (never heated), extracted on the farm, and carefully strained through a double-layered sieve before bottling. The orchard's fruit crops are pollinated by the farm's own honey bees as well as bees foraging from the surrounding area.
