Over the Moon Farm and Flowers is a women-owned, family-run direct-to-consumer meat farm founded in 2019 by co-owners Shae and Anna Pesek. Shae grew up on her family's land in Coggon, Iowa, where the farm operates today, and has raised cattle and crops for most of her life. The farm primarily raises farrow-to-finish Berkshire pigs and pasture-raised chickens and turkeys, and it also aggregates grass-fed beef and lamb from partner farmers whose practices align with its own. Customers can order individual cuts, variety bundles, bulk shares, and meat subscriptions online. Over the Moon Farm and Flowers raises its pigs in spacious deep-bedded barns, outdoor lots, and on pasture, where the animals can express natural behaviors in low-stress environments. Chickens and turkeys are raised on pasture with access to fresh air and sunshine. The farm also partners with a local farm in Hopkinton, Iowa, that raises additional pasture-raised chicken under the same standards. Grass-fed beef and lamb come from partner farmers practicing rotational grazing. Some chicken sold through the farm is certified organic. The farm sells only through its own direct channels, with no anonymous supply chain intermediaries between farmer and customer.
