Third-generation family farm selling pasture-raised beef by the whole, half, quarter, and beef box.
Orem Farms is a third-generation family farm in Clinton County, Indiana, with roots going back to 1956 when Merle and Virginia Orem purchased the property. The current generation, Jared and Joelle Orem, moved to the farm in 2019 to tend the cattle and grow the beef business. The farm raises steer calves on open pasture and sells beef directly to customers as wholes, halves, quarters, or curated beef boxes. Beef boxes run 8 to 12 pounds and include ground beef plus a farmer's choice mix of roasts and steaks, available by one-time purchase or subscription. The farm also operates The Midwest Farm Shop on the same property, connecting local foods to Midwest communities. Learn more on their About Page.
Orem Farms raises steer calves on open pasture, feeding them locally raised and cut hay and grain, with most of the hay coming directly from the farm. The farm does not use additives to accelerate growth. Beef is sold direct-to-consumer, with customers working with the farm's local butchers to receive custom cuts.
