Family-run coffee farm growing, processing, and roasting estate Maui coffee on the slopes of Haleakala.
Olinda Organic Farm is a family coffee farm founded in 2009 by Rob and Martha Lind, situated next to the Makawao Forest Preserve at an elevation of 3,250 feet on the northern slope of Haleakala. The farm's red volcanic soil, heavy rainfall, cool nights, and warm days produce slowly maturing coffee cherries that are dense and sweet. Rob hand-picks cherries at peak ripeness and processes them using washed, honey, or natural methods before roasting in small batches. The farm's primary variety is Red Catuai, alongside Red/Orange Bourbon, Typica, Yellow Catuai, Mundo Novo, and Mokka. Its coffees have placed first in the Hawaii Coffee Association Cupping Competition at both the Maui district and state levels on multiple occasions. Coffee is available at Upcountry Maui farmers markets and ships via USPS.
Olinda Organic Farm grows its coffee using organic methods. Cherries are hand-picked at peak ripeness, then processed on-site by washed, honey, or natural process. After drying and resting, the coffee is roasted in small batches and stored in vacuum-tight canisters to allow degassing. Finished coffee is packaged in bags fitted with one-way gas valves to release carbon dioxide without allowing oxygen in.
